The battle was won, emotions were on high, and a sacred Shikon Jewel fragment had been recovered.
Inuyasha sheathed the Tetsusaiga quickly and turned to Kagome. He stunned her into dropping her bow as he yanked her into his arms, tightly pinning her to his chest.
“Inuyasha!” She gasped, a little breathless from the hold.
“K’gome,” his voice was thick and rough, his golden gaze locked on her lips as he tightened his hold on her. They stared at each other for long minutes, her resistance falling away as he continued to embrace her.
Kagome smiled before squeezing her hand up from the confines between them to reach up and scratch behind the soft, fuzzy triangle upon his head. Inuyasha let a deep rumble of appreciation out as she continued her ministrations, his eyes slowly closing.
Blushing in embarrassment, she turned her head and lowered her hand back to her rapidly rising and falling chest, filled with the trepidation running throughout her system, “Something the matter?” she mumbled, face as red as a cherry, trying to forget that she’d just touched his ear, when she knew how much he hated it for her to touch him. Though he seemed unaffected today, which made her a little anxious.
His breath was hot on her skin as he leaned down, pressing his forehead to her shoulder, burying his nose into her skin. He inhaled her scent, the smell of roses still underneath all the sweat and grim from battle.
“We killed it,” he mumbled, unsure of what to do now that the youkai was dead… and Kagome was in his arms.
“Yeah,” she replied, her fingers slowly gripping the front of his haori as she chewed on the corner of her lips. “We killed it.” She repeated him, enjoying the gentle moment between them, Inuyasha had initiated.
He smiled against her skin, making her shiver slightly under the small movement. Leaning back up, Inuyasha gave her a crooked smirk, a little fang showing.
“Let’s go find the others!” He pulled away, not noticing Kagome’s reluctance to leave his embrace.
She nodded, “Okay.”
The moment broken, Kagome picked up her bow and eased herself onto Inuyasha’s offered back, before they were bounding easily over the land, following Inuyasha’s sense of smell.

I hope this comment pleases you.no subject
