“Where could they have gone?” Kagome huffed as she dumped the contents of her backpack out, searching for the container she was missing.
“What is it?” Miroku glanced at her over the campfire.
Kagome released an aggravated sigh, “I know I packed those cookies I promised to bring Shippo, but I just can’t find them.”
Inuyasha snorted from his place on the overhead branch, “Not like that kit needs anymore sweets.”
“Heeeeyy!” Shippo whined, hopping up onto the branch beside Inuyasha, “You’re just jealous Kagome brings me treats and not you!”
“Keh.” Inuyasha swatted at the kitsune, who had jumped onto his head, tugging on his ears. “Get off!” he growled, and swatted more at the pest. Shippo clung to the sleeves of Inuyasha’s haori.
“Inuyasha,” Kagome chastised as she shoved her things back into her backpack, not focusing on the two of them in the trees, “Don’t be mean.”
The hanyou stared down at the group, his dark browns narrowed as he continued to try and shake the kit off of him, “Keh, you’re too lentient with him, K’gome. He’s a youkai and not some human y’know.”
“It doesn’t matter. He’s still a child.” Kagome grumbled.
“Hey, Kagome,” Shippo sniffed Inuyasha, “Didn’t you say those treats were that chocolate kind?”
Kagome looked up, “I did.”
“I think Inuyasha ate them.”
Inuyasha tossed the kid,, “Shud’up.”
Sango and Miroku stared between the hanyou and Kagome, eyes wide.
Kagome narrowed her eyes on the culprit and stood slowly, “Inuyasha!”
“Keh.”
“OSUWARI!”
