“Keep him safe,” Sei exhaled, letting his anxiety wash away from him. He cupped Ren's tattooed cheek in his hands, “He needs you now.”
“But,” Ren whimpered, gold eyes unsure, “He doesn't need me.”
Sei shook his head, rubbing his thumb across the dark markings, smearing the streaked tear there, “Aoba does need you. He always has needed you.”
Ren pulled away from the tender grasp, “Aoba won't accept me.”
Sei inhaled sharply, brushing his platinum hair out of his face, “No, he won't.” Sei clasped his hands in front of him, smiling lovingly, “That's why you need my body.”
